‘The Last Ship’ season 4: Premiere date speculation for TNT drama
For everyone who loves “The Last Ship,” the bad news is that tonight marks the season 3 finale, and with that could of course be some opportunities for drama and a cliffhanger or two. Hopefully, it’ll at least be the end of Chandler’s efforts versus Allison Shaw, who has certainly established herself as a strong-willed political adversary.
So where could the series go from here? Well, the first thing we should point out is that there are at least two more years to come for the series. TNT renewed the show starring Eric Dane for season 4 earlier this summer, and then mere days ago, they also made the big move of locking in the series for a fifth season to go along with that. Even if that does turn out to be the final season (which is not confirmed), you can at least rest assured that there are opportunities to at least watch more than twenty more episodes of this journey.
As for when the show will return, think along the lines of the summer of 2017. This is the perfect time of the year for this series for a wide array of different reasons. For one, it has the feel of a summer movie in between the explosions and the action sequences, and it also has an established audience that will watch it at that time. Why change things up if something is working? Even if the ratings were down this summer, maybe they will level off going into season 4.
