‘The Last Ship’ season 3, episode 12 video: Is ‘Resistance’ really futile?

Last Ship -

Given that the title for Sunday night’s new episode of “The Last Ship” is “Resistance,” of course we had to go ahead and throw the most obvious “Star Trek” joke ever in the title. Why not? It is actually also a pretty good question to ask when you stop for a minute and look at where things are at.

Going into the final episodes of the season, things are clearly not in an altogether-great place for Chandler and company, and we don’t know how you would say anything otherwise when you think for a moment about where the pieces are on the board. You’ve got basically war declared on much of the military, and as a result of that there is some legitimate fear that Tom’s head could be served up on a silver platter before he even makes it back deep into America.

Are there some resources for help? Sure, since you can look at Kara and Tex as fine examples of that. The problem here is that we’re talking about a real underdog story of a few against a many. Granted, the Nathan James has conquered such odds before, but it has to feel a little bit awkward and even strange in a way when some of the people against you are, in theory, people who are from the same country. You would think everyone would want unity, but circumstances / actions have dictated the story having to chart this particular course.

Stay tuned, as we’re going to have even more news from this episode coming up in the near future.
