NBC’s ‘The Voice’ video: Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus, coaches have fun with each other’s songs

The Voice -

Sure, we’ve seen plenty of fun courtesy of “The Voice” already leading up to the show’s September 19 return, but the video below probably has some of the funniest moments we’ve seen yet of the pre-show material that NBC has released.

To help prepare you for the new season, producers apparently came up with the completely novel / completely silly idea to have some of the coaches read out loud some of the lyrics for one of the other coaches’ songs, and the results are definitely worthy of a few laughs. For example, Blake Shelton trying to pronounce “party” in Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” is a real gem, and the same goes for Miley enunciating all of the different notes in “Moves Like Jagger.” Alicia Keys, meanwhile, actually does bring a different sort of rhythm to one of Blake’s songs.

Sure, this idea was probably conceptualized in about five minutes when someone handed each one of the coaches a sheet of paper and told them to have fun, but sometimes the best ideas come from the silliest places. The biggest thing that “The Voice” needs to do is continue to hype up their web presence, given that this is one of the reasons the show remains so popular. Sure, millions of viewers watch, but this is an extension of the content that is available anytime for people to check out.

We have a hard time imagining that this will be the only video that is put out before the series returns; with that in mind, stay tuned for more of the latest!
