‘Longmire’ season 5 trailer: Walt’s back — but does he have answers?

Longmire -Isn’t it funny sometimes how the internet works? Just twelve hours ago we were bemoaning Netflix not including “Longmire” in a video featuring September highlights, and wondering when in the world that new trailer was going to be out there for fans to watch. It has certainly been a long wait and “Longmire” not being included in the highlight reel for Netflix was strange to us since this is a Netflix original series.

Well … the trailer’s now out there! You can watch it over at TVInsider, but after you watch it come back here to read some of our quick impressions. (We’re going to have a lot of time to chat further about this in the coming days.)

1. What happened with Walt and Donna Sue Monahan at the end of season 4 remains unclear, but we do have to wonder if she was the target all along as opposed to Walt and the cliffhanger was a misdirect. Regardless, it seems like Walt is struggling to remember precisely what happened at the end of last season for at least the early going.

2. For those of you who are Walt / Vic ‘shippers, there’s no definite sign the two are getting together — but the two share a moment in here when she talks about Eamonn.

3. Apparently, Cady does end up taking the job from Jacob Nighthorse, and there is a little bit of tension between her and her father over the job coupled with her inability to represent him in the wrongful death lawsuit brought about by Barlow Connally’s family.

4. Finally, Mathias is going to give Henry an out when it comes to his recent actions as Hector — work for him and the tribal police in some capacity. Given that Hector does not always follow the letter of the law, we certainly figure that could get messy.
