‘Saturday Night Live’: Simone Biles pitches for Final Five to host
Given that NBC is the network responsible for hosting both the Olympics and also “Saturday Night Live,” doesn’t it make some sense for there to be some brand synergy there? We certainly think so. We think so tenfold when it involves the idea of Simone Biles trying to be a host for the sketch show on the upcoming 42nd season along with the rest of the Fatal Five gymnastics team.
In a post on her Twitter account, the famed gymnast made her interest clear not only for her, but also for the remainder of the team. She explained that they have been “dying to do it,” and if they were, they’d be joining other athletes like Peyton Manning and Charles Barkley who have done it at some point during their careers.
With that being said, is it a good idea to have five hosts for the show at one time? We’re not sure, since it feels almost impossible to feature them in every sketch. It almost feels like you’d maybe getting to see some of them in just a couple of sketches and then that’s it for the entirety of the show, and then if one person had less screen time than other people, that would suddenly be a thing and throw most of the internet into a fury.
Our solution is simple: Just hire Biles to be the host, and them maybe have the other four gymnasts cameo in a sketch or two if they can. We know they’re busy with a tour coming up, and Laurie Hernandez is also on “Dancing with the Stars” this season.
