‘Ink Master’ season 8, episode 2 preview: Will there be an all female alliance this season?

Ink MasterAfter watching what could only be best described as a tattoo bloodletting on tonight’s premiere of “Ink Master” season 8 we are thoroughly excited about the Oliver Peck vs Chris Nunez season of the show. This was easily the best “Ink Master” premiere we have ever seen and although not every twist on this show has worked in the past, we are completely on board with this twist so far. While we have mostly enjoyed seeing Chris and Oliver on the judging panel over the years, seeing Chris and Oliver this deep into the competition has given us a new found love for these two. This is a tough competition and it’s surely difficult for Chris and Oliver to step back and just be judges, when we are sure all they want to do every season is jump in and give some of the artists a shake – now they have a chance to do just that.

So what are we going to see moving forward now that Chris and Oliver have their teams picked? Each week will see only one team up for elimination and as we have seen in the more recent seasons, there will be new alliances forming with some of the artists. This doesn’t seem like the type of competition where alliances would really work like on “Survivor” or “Big Brother”, but surprisingly we have seen strong alliances make it to the end. It looks like we may see an all female alliance which could be interesting since we’ve still never had a female winner and in the past few seasons a woman hasn’t even gotten close to the brass ring.

We have been a little worried about how the judging will go this season since Oliver and Chris are team leaders, but also in competition with each other. It looks as though they are going to try to be impartial as they can be when judging tattoos, but we suspect they will play favorites as we have seen them do over the years. Also, be ready to see some big time break downs, because they are definitely coming. This competition is no cake walk, and there will be a few artists that will crack under the pressure. Over all we think this is going to be one hell of a good season and having all new artists is just what this show needed to breath new life into it.
