‘Dancing with the Stars 23’: Are Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, Simone Manuel possibilities?

DWTS -

We’re right in the thick of the Rio Olympics, and while there is quite a bit still to watch there from a sporting point of view, we’re of course starting to look towards the future as a television news site of these people after the Games.

With that in mind, “Dancing with the Stars” could easily be an appealing venue for many of them. Shawn Johnson, Apolo Anton Ohno, Meryl Davis, Charlie White, and Nastia Liukin are just some of the former Olympians to appear on the show, and the majority of them have done very well. It’s a nice break from training from many athletes, and they get to show off more of their personality and their brand by being a part of it.

So while we don’t have any information at present regarding who will be a part of this upcoming season, we can at least identify some Olympians that ABC could be interested in.

Simone Biles – Easily, Biles should be #1 on the show’s wishlist given her new reputation as the top gymnast in the world. We figure she’d do very well in the ballroom. If not her, we’d be shocked if there is not a gymnast on the show over the next two seasons.

Katie Ledecky – In terms of overall medal count from the games, she’s right there with Michael Phelps.

Michael Phelps – Given that the show has wanted him for years, we’d be surprised if it actually happened this fall. Maybe in a year or two he’d want to give it a shot?

Simone Manuel – As you can tell, swimmers could really be in hot commodity for “Dancing” this coming season; Team USA has done extremely well in the pool, and Manuel has also had one of the better stories to go along with it.

Ryan Murphy – While he may not have the profile of a Phelps or a Ledecky, the swimmer (who currently has two gold medals to his name) could be a good Olympian to get from the perspective of America getting to know him better.

With all of these Olympians, the real question is if they’d want to dive into another competition so quickly. Training for the Games is so intense, we wouldn’t be shocked if these people all wanted some sort of break.
