NBC’s ‘The Voice’ video: Go behind the scenes with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton for season 11 promo

The Voice -

If you have seen the season 11 trailers for “The Voice,” then you know a thing or two about what the show is going for thematically: Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are basically the Men in Black, and they start to have their universe invaded by “aliens” Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys. It’s a fairly cheesy concept, but it does work reasonably well for what this show is. It never takes itself altogether seriously, and if you are going to have someone like Miley on your show, you should probably make things a little bit outside-the-box.

In the video below, you can get a further look behind the scenes at precisely what went into making this particular promo, and it involved the coaches all being up in the middle of the night in Simi Valley, a city north of Los Angeles. Blake Shelton and Adam Levine talk a bit about the concept, and in turn Blake ribs Adam for having a hard time with some of the sand.

We don’t really directly hear from Miley much beyond just her philosophy for this sort of thing, which is apparently “go big or go big.” We do get a little bit more insight from Keys, who apparently has already formed a tight bond with Blake in the short period of time they’ve been working together. The blind auditions for this season have already been filmed, so we’re now on to the next order of business: The Battle and Knockout Rounds. Those are going to be filming this month in preparation for the show’s premiere in a little over thirty days.
