‘Madam Secretary’ season 3 spoilers: Morgan Freeman to reprise role, direct

Secretary -Morgan Freeman is an executive producer of “Madam Secretary” over on CBS, and clearly he likes to do some of his most extensive work on the show during the premieres.

According to a report coming in from Entertainment Weekly, the acting icon will both direct the first episode back and also reprise his role as Chief Justice Wilbourne. This is a role that he played previously back during the season 2 premiere, which he also directed.

We imagine that for the cast of the show, it has to be somewhat of a thrill to be able to return to work on the first episode and have someone of Freeman’s caliber there. It is another sign of the sort of quality work that you are putting out there, and Freeman himself probably does recognize that this is a chance to get the show an even higher profile than it would have otherwise. Due to the mere glut of shows that are out there, sometimes it can be especially challenging for every one of them to stand out and find their own place in the sun. Getting news like this is always welcome.

As we noted recently, there is a great way to catch up on season 2 episodes now, as the show has been made available for Netflix subscribers. Be sure to dive in and enjoy! It is looking like it is going to be a rather eventful batch of episodes ahead, given the choice that Elizabeth McCord is going to have to make plus the likely flood of material the show is getting courtesy of the current political climate.
