‘Outcast’ episode 9 preview: Kyle’s search in ‘Close to Home’
In many ways, it is rather remarkable that we are only two episodes away from the end of “Outcast” this season, and that is largely a testament to the sort of stellar work that the writers and actors have done to get us to this point. This is the rare exorcism drama that actually has us invested in the characters and the story, and we can only hope that continues moving into the finale.
As for where we are going specifically next week with “Close to Home,” an hour that will feature at its core Kyle searching for someone he lost in Allison, who just a week ago at this writing decided that she was going to leave her and her daughter behind through a combination of fear and cognizance over her past. Will there be a way for Kyle to turn things around? We know that he is looking for some sort of healing and closure, but no matter what he has done on the series to date, he really has not been able to find that.
Elsewhere in this episode, be prepared to see Megan floored over some news, and also for Reverend Anderson to make a bad decision so much worse. We don’t want to say that we’re surprised, but the reality here is that Anderson is someone, due in part to his own desire to be the “healer,” who does not know quite when to quit.
Given that the finale is so close to being at our doorstep, you better believe that there could be some other dramatic surprises ahead. Stay tuned…
