‘Poldark’ season 2: Aidan Turner, Eleanor Tomlinson tease stories ahead

The second season of “Poldark” is getting set to launch later this year on both BBC One in Great Britain and PBS in America, and rest assured that there is going to be quite a bit of story to unravel. This is a show where the characters have a great deal of struggle, and the unfortunate news for so many of them right now is that they are not anywhere near the end of it just yet.

In the aftermath of all that has happened, what is coming up next for Demelza? This is something that Eleanor Tomlinson herself was kind enough to preview while at the TCA Summer Press Tour panel for the show earlier this week. Per Decider, she passed along the following message:

“Demelza has really grown up through the series. She has this incredible love of life, despite losing her child. She’s got a lot of love to give. The thought of losing Ross is terrifying because she knows he’s innocent. Demelza is terrified he’ll be taken away from her.”

Meanwhile, Tomlinson’s co-star and Ross Poldark himself in Aidan Turner made it clear precisely how complex a story there is coming up for his character:

“There are lots of ups and downs for everyone … Ross Poldark is emotionally inarticulate. Is it possible to be in love with more than one person? … His moral compass is usually pointed in the right direction. Ross does have a bit of a nasty streak.”

Think of all of these as interesting teases for the second season, which we are very excited to see coming up before too long. While there may be a precedent for this show in the original, we do nonetheless think that there will be a willingness for the show to follow its own path.
