When ‘Poldark’ season 2 begins in Great Britain, America
In the midst of San Diego Comic-Con and some other stories as of late, this one slipped through the cracks ever so slightly. Still, we don’t want “Poldark” readers on the site to go without knowing when season 2 will premiere!
Let’s start with viewers in Great Britain who are watching the Aidan Turner – Eleanor Tomlinson with regularity: Season 2 begins on Sunday, September 4 on BBC One! We’re rather thrilled that the premiere date was announced this early, given that British television does from time to time have a habit of making fans wait for the very last minute for such dates to be revealed.
As for viewers in America, rest assured that you won’t have to wait that much longer in comparison! Clearly, this is no “Downton Abbey” where you’re forced to wait many more months for the show to come on. Season 2 will premiere with a two-hour episode on Sunday, September 25 under the PBS Masterpiece label. This basically means that the show will only be behind the UK airings by a couple of weeks, which really is not so bad. Still, it makes you wonder why PBS continued to air “Downton” in January when they could have aired it earlier, had they chosen. (Our understanding is that since the ratings for the show were great in January, there really wasn’t too bit of a reason for them to shift things around.)
Given that “Poldark” has already been renewed for a third season, there is nothing that you have to worry about while watching — you can simply kick back and enjoy new episodes … while keeping a box of tissues at the ready just in case.
