‘Wayward Pines’ season 2, episode 9 review: The twisted story of Jason and Kerry
Wednesday night’s new episode of “Wayward Pines” was all sorts of messed up. Really, we do not know how else to describe it. This was a story that ventured back to the past, and as a result of that we learned something most unwelcome: Jason and Oedipus have quite a bit in common!
Yep, it turns out that Jason’s great love Kerry this whole time has been his mother who sent him away to Texas so many years agoo, and neither party were made aware of it until a fateful moment near the end of the hour where Jason made that discovery, and in a fit of horror and rage, he pulled out the gun. Now, we enter the finale not entirely sure as to what is going to be coming up for the two of them, if they are going to survive, or what will happen with their plans now.
After all, things are not looking so great for the town that Jason has overseen for most of the season. Margaret seems more like her old self, and the Abbies are now off plotting their next move … whatever that may be.
As for the plan to send all of the town’s residents into the future, it’s a little complicated when there are only so many available, isn’t it? If we were trying to think about this story in terms of a message, we would presume that the one here is mostly “absolutely power corrupts absolutely.” Basically, town leadership has screwed up on this second chance so badly that they now have to consider having a third. It may be said, bue it’s the truth. This show’s certainly been messy at times in season 2, but we’re still aboard and captivated leading into the finale. Grade: B.

Season 2 was awesome! I just watched Episode 9. Very creative. I hope Jason dies and Kerry lives. I am really glad they killed off that blond, evil woman, the Pilcher disciple.

I thought it was interesting. It is all about what happens when you think you will never see someone again. Kind of like what happens when prisoners of war come back after a long absence to find their wives and children have moved on.
