After spending much of this week’s episode of “The Amazing Race Canada” in more of the rural portion of Vietnam, next week the CTV series is venturing back to an urban area. Specifically, we’re going to Ho Chi Minh City, an extremely busy city and also the place the teams will likely fly back out of on their way into Canada.
Based on what little we saw of the action ahead, we could be in for some really great stuff thanks to the tasks. For one, karaoke! Sure, it’s not the most physically or mentally demanding thing in the world, but we do have a thing for watching teams engage in a little bit of second-hand embarrassment while singing. To be fair, this is probably one we’d do given that it is not too physically strenuous or skill-based; you just need to make sure to study what you are doing and you could be through rather quickly.
The other task that quickly caught our eye is the latest edition of “eat this awful thing disguised as a local delicacy.” Sure, this will probably be incredibly disgusting to look at, but our philosophy on such matters is rather simple: The quicker that you eat it, the less amount of time you have to be reminded that it is there. If you can plow through it and move on to the next thing, it will give you an easy advantage over people who look and then immediately freak out.
Given that we are staying in Vietnam for the week, you do have to worry about Anne & Tanya alongside Julie & Lowell. They’ll be starting with a disadvantage, and either is altogether gifted physically compared to other teams.
