‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 18: When does filming begin for Mariska Hargitay, cast?
For those of you wondering when there could be some news coming out from the set of “Law & Order: SVU,” rest assured that it will be released sooner rather than later.
In a new post on Twitter today, the show’s official writers room declared that the upcoming 18th season will begin tomorrow, which means that Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, and the rest of the cast will be right back at it! (We also have to say that we totally love this logo.)
One of the most obvious changes going into season 18 is at the top in the showrunner position. Warren Leight departed at the end of season 17, with “Law & Order” veteran Rick Eid stepping into his place. We’re excited to see what dimensions and areas he wants to explore with this show, since we certainly expect that there will be some twists and subjects featured that we have not seen yet with the show and with this cast.
It’s hard to comment too much on stories that have not been announced, but we will have more news over the coming months leading up to the premiere. Our hope is that we’ll get some character pieces for all of the cast, and then also potentially another crossover or two with some of the other shows in the Dick Wolf universe. It may be hard to incorporate “Chicago Fire” and “Med” into this show, but “Chicago PD” and the upcoming “Chicago Justice” do have a little bit in common, or at least enough for a few things to take place organically.
