‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Niall Horan’s friend tries out in Ireland

X Factor -

For the first time in over five years, “The X Factor” is visiting Ireland for its auditions. How is that going? It is hard to have the full extent of evidence on this until we see the show, but for now, it at least feels like there are some notable contestants taking part … including a close pal of one of One Direction’s famous members.

Speaking per the Irish Sun, a source made it clear that Niall Horan’s longtime pal Mark Irwin tried out for the show, and got some good encouragement from him before taking part in it:

“Niall gave him lots of good advice and wished him luck. It stood him in good stead as he really impressed [the judges].”

We’re sure that the producers of the show will love this, if for no other reason than that it gives them another news and interesting way to promote the show by having him talk about Niall on there. With this being said, we’re not sure having celebrity ties is going to help you at all once you make it past the first part of the competition where they can use you to create a really good package. From there on out, it is a little bit more about what you can bring to the table, and whether or not you have the star quality needed to be a star on your own. After all, even if you have some sort of celebrity tie, that doesn’t mean much of anything if you don’t have the talent.
