‘Longmire’ season 5 filming wraps: Katee Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips share images

LongmireFor everyone out there who loves “Longmire,” we’re now another step closer to the fifth season coming on the air! We just passed another milestone, and that is the end of filming for this current batch of episodes.

If you look below, you can see both Lou Diamond Phillips (Henry Standing Bear) and Katee Sackhoff (Vic Moretti) sharing some images with fans through Twitter as they wrapped up production, which has been going on for the past few months. This show doesn’t require an enormous production commitment in comparison to some other shows, and we imagine that this really works well for the cast well since it offers them up the opportunity to do some other things in the off season. We know that these two actors in particular have done some film work during their down time.

Now, we simply await the announcement of the premiere date, which we’re hoping is going to come once more in September. If we had our way, we’d like it to be on Friday, September 2 given that this would give us something to watch during Labor Day Weekend, and it also would give us plenty of time to enjoy it before the network TV season was underway. (Given that season 4 premiered on September 10, anywhere around this time is probably a reasonable expectation.)

As Phillips says with “until next season,” obviously the hope is that there’ll be more stories to tell with these characters beyond this year. We haven’t seen the new season yet so it’s hard to be 100% confident, but we certainly feel as though the interest is there from the fans (and us) for a season 6.
