‘The Fosters’ season 4, episode 2 video: AJ has a quick chat with Callie

In the sneak peek below from Monday night’s “The Fosters,” one thing is almost immediately clear: Callie is still dealing with the emotional ramifications of many things. First and foremost is obviously the school lockdown from the premiere (Nick still seems to be at large), and to go along with that she is also continuing to deal with confessing to Stef and Lena about her relationship with Brandon and some abuse that she is taking online.

It’s nice to see that AJ wants to be there for her, though when he shows up in the clip the first thing that he does on accident is frighten her. We ultimately are not too surprised, mostly because of the fact that this is still a harrowing experience. From there, he asks her if she has been reading much online through Fost and Found, and really he is there as a shoulder for her.

At the moment, it’s probably a little early to make any sort of bold proclamation as to where things are going between these two characters. While there are some feelings there, it’s hard to imagine that Callie is even able to focus enough to be able to have something like romance in her life. That may just be something that takes a little bit of time for her to sort through, and then visit more when things have calmed a little.

Who knows, though? We could see the pendulum swinging the other way, as well. We will really only know when we get around to seeing the next few episodes.
