‘The Bachelorette’: JoJo Fletcher explains drama with ex Chad Rookstool
So what really went on between JoJo Fletcher of “The Bachelorette” and her ex Chad Rookstool? There was a whole situation that erupted on Monday night’s new episode, where it turned out that there was some drama involving two separate people with the same first name. This Chad chose to speak out in a tabloid interview trashing JoJo, and suggesting that she wasn’t on the show for anything other than herself.
In her latest People Magazine blog, JoJo gave some interesting context to her past with this Chad, and we actually feel like everything makes much more sense:
“The moment I read that magazine article, I could barely breath. Chad and I dated for years, and we shared so many good times. We will always have so many memories together. But we broke up. And that break up was hard on both of us. I fought so hard to let go, and it wasn’t until I met Ben last season that I was truly able to do that. But as you saw when I returned home to Dallas last season for my hometown date, Chad couldn’t let go.
“It was no different when I came home after the season. He was hurting, and it pained me for him to be in so much pain. I did spend time with him, but it was never with any intention of rekindling a romantic relationship. When I left forThe Bachelorette, I thought we were in a good place. I thought we were back to being just friends. But seeing that article, reading that he questioned my intentions for doing this, it just hurt me so much.”
In hearing this, it starts to make some sense why this Chad may have been upset. If she did anything to make him feel like there was a chance for them, wouldn’t he feel used by her then leaving to go on yet another reality show? We would definitely understand if he felt burned by her, but going to the tabloids is probably the one way he could guarantee that nobody would have any sympathy for him or his situation. At that point, it just feels slimy.
