Aidan Turner teases ‘Poldark’ season 2; season 3 renewal likely coming soon
For all fans of “Poldark,” there’s a lot to be excited about now: We’re a matter of months away from the show returning to BBC One with a new season, and to go along with that, there’s also now some talk about there being a third season!
Per the Radio Times, a renewal is almost a formality at this point for the series, with filming for it expected to start in September. It’s strange that the show will be airing season 2 at the same time they are filming the third season, but this does happen sometimes. It’s a tremendous show of faith on the network’s part since they haven’t seen the ratings for season 2 just yet. Then again, we suspect that they will more than likely be huge.
The site also provided a story tease from star Aidan Turner, courtesy of a recent tease he gave at MCM Comic-Con following a “Being Human” reunion panel:
“We pick it up exactly where we left off from last year … So it’s a time when Ross and Demelza have just lost their child, his company is down the pan, they’re broke, and he’s been arrested. It looks like he’s going to prison.
“It’s a cheery beginning! (Note: Obviously, that’s some irony.) … And yeah, there’s so much story in it, and all the characters have massive arcs in the next series – I think we’re 10 episodes next series. I mean, it was big the first year, but with all the support and the fanbase that we’ve accumulated? It’s gonna be amazing.”
