‘Big Brother 18’: Who’s the newbie in the best position to win?
Last week the newbie cast was announced for “Big Brother 18,” and it includes a pair of siblings of former houseguests to go along with ten people who are not related in any way (at least by our knowledge) to anyone else with game experience. It’s an interesting group, and there are some likable, interesting personalities in there.
So who out of these players is in the best spot right now to win? We’re not sure that we can call anyone an official “winner pick” without seeing who the returning players are, given that there are some different dynamics that are going to inevitably change once some of those people get into the house, yet, we do at least feel pretty strongly here that someone among these twelve has a great chance to win regardless of who the returnees are: Zakiyah Everette.
What we really dig about Zakiyah’s profile and her interview with Jeff Schroeder (read our full spotlight here) is that she knows the game, needs the money, and is willing to do whatever she can to get it. With that being said, there’s nothing about her that reeks of desperation, so we don’t see her being an immediate threat. With these returning players coming in, you have to feel like they are going to band together and try to get rid of hustlers. Zakiyah has the potential to hustle, but she’s smart enough to know not to do it right away.
Are there concerns with her mouth, given that she claims that it could get her into trouble? Maybe, but we just think that there will be so many other people who find even bigger ways to shoot themselves in the foot.
In a vacuum, we do actually think that someone like Tiffany Rousso could be the best player among the newbies easily. However, returnees will be threatened by her, and even if this was an all-newbie season, there’s no way she will be able to keep her lineage to Vanessa a secret with her voice sounding so similar. She’s coming in too soon after Vanessa dominated the game.
Now, for the other side of things – Who’s the first person out? We’ve put a lot of thought into this, and we just don’t see anything going Glenn Garcia’s way. He’s going to be supremely entertaining, but he sticks out like a sore thumb thanks to his age, and he also seems to come from the Paul Jackson school of wanting to go completely nuts in the house. (He even looks like Paul!) He may be a little more equipped than Paul because he is a fan, but he’s going to play too hard, too fast. We’re almost positive of it.
Our alternate candidate here for first out is Michelle Meyer, who we’re not nearly as high on as some other people. To us, there’s zero chance she will be able to mask her intelligence, and we could see her talk about nutrition rubbing people the wrong way in this house, filled with people who want to drink beer and eat junk food, rather quickly. Early on, you’re just looking for reasons to get rid of people.
