‘Outlander’ season 2, episode 11 video: Dougal brings Jamie a troubling note

There are only three episodes left on “Outlander” season 2, and over the course of that time, we could see things start to turn rather badly — and quickly — over the Jacobite Rebellion. There was a time when we saw at least some characters starting to be hopeful over what was a worthy cause for them to be fighting for; however, we could start to see the tide turn in the other direction now following the Battle of Prestonpans.

In the sneak peek below, you can specifically see Dougal present Jamie with a note that suggests that he may not be altogether secure when it comes to his tie to Prince Charles, at least in comparison to what he once felt he had. This could lean in turn to some further trouble, and it’s coming at the worst time with the Battle of Culloden on the horizon.

Is there any hope at all for Claire to be able to turn this around? What the show has done so well over time is present history as something reasonably-fluid and capable of change, but at the same time, it’s also such a thing that you need to be in the right place at the right time to change. There are many things that are out of your control. With the Jacobite cause, Claire may be starting to feel like this is something that time wants to remain constant rather than having the tide turn in a different direction.
