‘Sherlock’ season 4 filming with Benedict Cumberbatch heads to London — at least temporarily

SherlockWe recently reported that the fourth season of “Sherlock” has done some late-night location work in Wales, and that really didn’t surprise us too much based on some of the information that is out there. It seems as though the majority of the season is being filmed in the Cardiff area, which has become extremely familiar to executive producer Steven Moffat courtesy of all of the time that he has worked there on “Doctor Who.”

Now that we have said that, we can at least report that, for a time, the show has done a little bit of work in another location as well. We don’t want to give away specifics, but Benedict Cumberbatch was recently spotted at a fairly memorable place in London. This is cool news that we’re getting some on-location work, since it had been hinted at months ago. They add to the authenticity, even if they are challenging with this show being so well-known.

As for details regarding the story of season 4, those are still up in the air. We know that Toby Jones is going to be playing a villain well-known from the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle universe, but we’re hesitant to confirm anything out there just because we feel like these announcements are better off coming from the BBC.

New episodes of “Sherlock” will likely premiere either in late 2016 or early 2017, so rest assured that there is going to be plenty more news to report even before we get around to the premiere date being announced. Be on the lookout.
