‘UnREAL’ season 2 spoilers: All about Madison’s big change

UnREAL -

During the season 2 premiere of “UnREAL,” there is one scene in particular that we know many people out there more than likely found rather striking. Specifically, we’re referring to the character of Madison basically having to push in an interview, at the request of Rachel, until she made a contestant tear up at the though that she could be responsible for a tragedy befalling a previous love of her life.

This move is just one step in the evolution of this character, who is in the process of moving up in the ladder much in the same way that Rachel has. The real difference here is that she started off far lower on the food chain.

So what did the actress behind the role think of this evolution? While at the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Genevieve Buechner (per Entertainment Weekly) had the following to say:

“When I read that [scene], I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, this is going to be a very different season for Madison. It’s not going to be the same deer-in-the-headlights girl who doesn’t know what she’s doing … [Ultimately, she is] really working toward her weird dream of becoming this manipulative producer who can run the world. That’s what she wants more than anything. She sees Quinn as the goddess and Rachel as the queen and wants that.”

As for whether or not she is really going to get there on “Everlasting,” that is something that remains to be seen given that there is already a power struggle with Quinn, Rachel, and Chet. It’s hard to see much more room at the top.
