‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: Could we be meeting Caitlin Snow’s mother soon?

Over time on “The Flash,” we’ve had a chance to learn a little bit more about some of the show’s main characters, and that includes their families! We’ve seen Cisco’s brother multiple times, we know at least Earth-2 Harrison Wells’ daughter Jesse, and of course we’ve gotten to know everyone associated with Barry Allen and Iris West.

It’s certainly time we start to learn a little bit more about the Caitlin Snow character, and based on all accounts, this is something that could be taking place during the upcoming third season. In speaking on the subject to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had the following message to pass along:

“We haven’t met Caitlin’s mother yet, so we got a little talk between [Killer Frost and Caitlin about their moms in season 2], which is something that will probably play out in season 3.”

There are certainly a lot of different ways that the show could introduce this character, but we almost hope that she’s a character who isn’t entirely redeemable just because we’ve seen certain wrinkles of that already with The Calculator over on “Arrow.” He’s still a bad man, but his story is a little bit more complicated than it seemed at first. Also, we think the show certainly worked to show a different side of the Christine character on “The Flash” before the show died.

Note that since Andrew said “probably” in his comment, this isn’t 100% confirmed to be happening; nonetheless, we will offer up some further updates on this subject as they start to come out. The new season will likely premiere in October.
