‘Chicago PD’ season 4 wishlist: Voight’s continuation, Lindsay and Halstead, and a solo Burgess

Chicago PD -Now that “Chicago PD” season 3 is over, it’s time to transition over to the next big thing: Trying to figure out what in the world is going to happen next! We of course have a few suggestions for season 4, and they’re not so much to better the show since it’s already great; instead, it is more about keeping the momentum going, and making sure that this is the same great Dick Wolf series that stands on its own in the midst of all of the spin-off that are out there.

1. Consequences for Voight – We find Hank to be an extremely compelling, wonderful TV character. Yet, he cannot get away with killing someone just because we tend to root for him. There needs to be a fall from grace that comes with this, and it needs to be severe enough to make us think at least some of the rules apply to him. Obviously, he can’t just disappear from the show or go to prison, but there has to be some sort of measure of balance. Otherwise, there’s no real point in having a show about trying to find justice even when it is difficult.

2. Another step for Lindsay and Halstead – They had a pretty strong season together, and we would like to see that continue, and for them to become one of the most stable couples in this entire universe. Ultimately, we do think that this season was proof hopefully to many TV showrunners out there that a pair of characters can be together and still be interesting.

3. More “Chicago Justice” tie-ins – Since that show does not premiere until midseason, it wouldn’t hurt for there to be more reminders that it is coming.

4. Burgess on her own for a while – Yes, we do root for her and Ruzek to be together, but after spending so much of this season in relationship drama, it could be time for her to try being single for a little while and see what sort of stories come out of that.
