‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: On Chad Johnson, JoJo Fletcher, and group-date conflict

During the preview for this season of “The Bachelorette” that aired on Monday night, ABC made it really clear that Chad Johnson was going to be a major player this season … though not always for the right reasons. He’s going to be aggressive, quick-tempered, and angry with some of the other men. At times, Chris Harrison will apparently need to even step in after there are some threats of violence.

We’re not at that point in the season just yet, though; instead, it seems from the group-date synopsis below that the next new episode features some tension mostly in how Chad acts around JoJo Fletcher:

“ESPN’s “SportsNation” and popular co-hosts Max Kellerman and Marcellus Wiley welcome six excited bachelors. They promise to help JoJo find her soulmate and extract the guys who are here for the wrong reasons. The men participate in a series of challenges, including best touchdown dance and most romantic marriage proposal. However, Chad takes things too far and stuns everyone with how he talks to JoJo. But at the after party, Chad reveals his vulnerable side to the Bachelorette, sharing a heart breaking story with her. Will it make any difference in how she views him?”

Basically, we figure that this sort of group date would make it harder to pinpoint the guys “there for the wrong reasons,” because it’s ESPN! How will they seem even the slightest bit suspicious or upset? If there was a date every person should be excited to go on, this would be it. We actually do like dates that see the contestants happy, and would take this over some sort of striptease talent show any day of the week.
