‘Gotham’ season 3: Possible premiere dates, plans for Ben McKenzie drama

Jim GordonTonight, we reach the end of the road for “Gotham” season 2, but we can luckily rejoice in the fact that this is not the end of the road for the series as a whole. There are still several stories still to tell, and based on the recent quality of the series and the performances from Ben McKenzie and the cast, we wouldn’t be upset if we saw the show go on for several more years.

Fox renewed the series earlier this year for a third season, and we received confirmation last week at upfronts that we will specifically have a chance to see it come back on the air on Monday nights once more. There will be a fall and a spring season, so in many ways, little will be unchanged from season 2.

As for the precise premiere date, we cannot give you that right now, but we can at least give you three to write down in your calendar (if you actually have a hand-written calendar these days): September 19, September 26, and October 3. More than likely, the show will return one of these days. September 26 is our #1 guess, but we gotta give ourselves a little bit of leeway here! Fox, like many other networks, typically announces their premiere dates at some point in the fall. There will still be plenty of advance notice on it, so you will have an opportunity to plan ahead to a certain extent.
