The third season of “The Originals” has come and gone, and Friday night’s finale is one of the few times that you can use the “everybody dies” joke and almost get away with it when discussing the actual events that happened. The majority of the Original family is now, in one way or another, comatose. For the time being, it’s pretty clear that Marcel has won, and it could all be up to Hayley to figure out how to bring some of them back, and how to take the fight back to New Orleans. Suffice it to say, it’s not going to be easy.
Of course, it’s also not easy getting definitive details about what is coming up next, especially given that the new season will likely not premiere until 2017. Nonetheless, executive producer Michael Narducci did tease the following to TVLine about the role of Phoebe Tonkin on the show moving forward:
“There were hints in the finale of what Hayley’s next move is going to be. I don’t want to say too much, but I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility that Hayley will look to find a way — either by using her own vampire power or by using a witch — to try to communicate with [everyone in the dream world]. She has a giant puzzle to figure out in order to cure everyone, and given that they’re dying from a wolf bite, I think you can guess who she might turn to.”
For those of you who do love doing a little bit of guesswork, suffice it to say that this is going to be a very fun few months that you have ahead for you.
