‘The Originals’ season 3, episode 22 (finale) video: Marcel plots his revenge

On this past episode of “The Originals,” the foundation was laid in many ways for an epic finale, with Elijah leading the way by “killing” Marcel. Unfortunately for him, little did he know that Marcel had the serum, and he’s now prepared to unleash all sorts of supernatural warfare on the entire Mikaelson family.

In the sneak peek below, you can see him plotting his next move, while simultaneously having a conversation with Vincent where it is pretty darn clear that this is not a guy who is willing to compromise. Vincent understandably wants to ensure that nothing happens that will destroy the people of New Orleans, but Marcel seems much more intent on destroying his former “friends.”

Is there anyone who can steer this ship in a somewhat-different direction? At the moment, it feels very much like much of the responsibility could lie with a returning Rebekah (Claire Holt), given that she has such close ties to every key person involved. She has a history with Marcel that means that she may be able to get to him in ways that few others can, but at the same time she also has a rapport with her brothers.

We ultimately do now know quite how this will end, but we are clearly afraid of someone losing their life. This is a show where violence often tends to happen, and we’ve already got a trail of bodies this season as it is. The biggest shocker is that effective, we had the death of Cami on two different occasions.
