‘Gotham’ season 2, episode 22 (finale) spoilers: Final threats; the race to stop Hugo Strange

Hugo -The second season of “Gotham” has really only gotten better as time goes on, and what’s interesting is that it’s done this without even having to rely on some of its strongest characters. Season 2, as of late, has been rather quiet when it comes to our main villain Oswald Cobblepot, but Hugo Strange has more than made up for it by being one of the sharpest, most compelling villains in some time.

Next week, though, we could see the end of the road for this character, at least for now, with the finale entitled “Transference.” The synopsis below makes it clear that there is a showdown coming, and also some new arrivals that could cause some chaos on the streets of Gotham:

“While Gordon, Bruce and Lucius remain at Indian Hill, the city of GOTHAM will be met with a new threat as Hugo Strange’s inmates devise a plan to escape and start their new lives.”

Is the second season going to end with a cliffhanger? It’s hard to imagine that it won’t leave a few story threads dangling, given that this show has never been in any real jeopardy of getting canceled. So long as it continues to be of the quality it is right now, we don’t imagine it going anywhere for a long time.

Also, good news for Oswald: He’s coming back for the finale! We know that he has a grudge against Hugo, and we also know that he has a tendency to get what he wants. We’ll see what happens here when the episode airs…
