‘Game of Thrones’ season 6, episode 4: Emilia Clarke on huge Dany scene

Dany -We’ve complained for a few weeks now that “Game of Thrones” season 6 needed to have a big move courtesy of Dany, and we were very thrilled to see that this past episode surpassed some of our expectations and then some. We had long assumed that Daario and Ser Jorah were going to try to pull off some sort of epic rescue; what we did not expect was another moment involving Dany burning a place down and living to see the other side. It was a brilliant season 1 callback, and yet another movement forward for her as she proves that she is a worthy conqueror. If there is ever a display of power to the Dothraki that she is a worthy leader, we like to think that this is it.

In describing the lead-up to this scene in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Emilia Clarke had the following to say:

“It’s so exciting, very tingly-making … Every season I get at least one spine-chilling moment. I just stand up and I go, ‘I’m hearing what you’re all saying, but funny thing, I’m going to kill you all. I forgot that I have an ace in my back pocket and now I win.’”

This moment is another game-changer for the character, and hopefully it brings her closer once more to precisely what we’ve wanted to see from her this whole time: Make it to Westeros in a place where she can actually be a conqueror and not someone annihilated by some of those forces. The conflict for the Iron Throne just got that much more interesting…
