Is ‘Saturday Night Live’ new tonight on NBC? More on Peter Dinklage and ‘Space Pants’

SNL -Last week, there was a repeat episode scheduled for “Saturday Night Live,” but that was switched around at the last minute because of the tragic death of Prince. In lieu of that repeat, they put together a nice tribute package featuring Jimmy Fallon and also some clips from his most-notable performances over the years.

There’s really no smooth transition between this and any other news when it comes to the show, so there’s really nothing else that we have to do here other than press on. There is a regularly-scheduled repeat airing tonight, as the show is on hiatus until we get around to May 7. That is when “Room” star Brie Larson is going to make her hosting debut, and hopefully remind people that she can also be hilarious. (She’s done a ton of comedy work over the years.)

Tonight’s repeat is the one featuring Peter Dinklage, which was a decent-at-best outing that did feature some fun moments. The “Naked & Afraid” pre-tape was really fun the first time we saw it, but it is the sort of thing that really does not have a lot of repeat value.

However, the “Space Pants” performance peace is still fun, mostly because the song is still in our head. It starts slow, but it ends strong! In addition to the original sketch below (which you can watch now rather than waiting until tonight to see it), you can also check out the “studio” version of the song, just in case you want to listen to it in a little more of an uninterrupted fashion. It’s dangerously catchy!
