ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5, episode 18 video: Jake, Rowan try to counsel Olivia

You know that something is going on in the world of “Scandal” when you’ve got Rowan and Jake, otherwise known as the last people you want giving you advice, actually giving you advice. Yet, this is precisely what is happening in the sneak peek below.

As many of you out there likely recall, at the end of this past episode we had a situation where Olivia became completely unhinged, and ended up killing the character of Andrew after everything that he did to her. It was a moment that may go down as one of the most shocking things we’ve ever seen on the show.

In the aftermath of that, Olivia is numb, and there’s nothing that these two men seem to be able to do to help her. She doesn’t even want to work on a puzzle with Rowan! Side note: There’s something really bizarre and also really funny about the mental imagine of Rowan sitting down working on a puzzle with his daughter while sipping tea and listening to music. There always will be.

Rowan closes the sneak peek by handing over some other possibly-unwelcome news to Olivia: Jake and Vanessa are getting set to have their wedding soon. Is that going to be the sort of thing that convinces her to get out of bed? Time will tell, but given that this episode is titled “Till Death Do Us Part,” we certainly figure that this ceremony will factor into the episode in one way or another by the time we reach the end.
