‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 18 reaction: Teddy Sears on Zoom’s endgame, move on Caitlin

Zoom -At the end of Tuesday night’s new episode of “The Flash,” we saw something that we certainly did not anticipate going into the hour: Zoom actually winning in his fight against The Flash … at least for now. Hunter Zolomon managed to evade Barry and the team at STAR Labs, and after capturing Wally, basically forced Barry to give up his speed in return for his life. Now, Zoom is more powerful than ever before, and what he does next (beyond capturing Caitlin) remains to be seen.

In speaking after this episode to Entertainment Weekly, all Teddy Sears would tease is that is that Zoom’s pretty pleased with himself, but there are also motivations behind many of his moves beyond what we know:

“There’s that smug satisfaction that comes with seeing your long, multi-month plan come to fruition … For one, Zoom needs Barry’s speed for a very specific reason. We’ll get into why. He’s satisfied on a number of counts. Of course, he gets the girl by any means necessary. She’s not a trophy; she really is someone he believes that he loves and wants to have with him.”

Of course, good luck now getting Caitlin to feel the same way. She was on board with liking him back when she thought that he was a good guy, and someone who was saving Central City as Jay Garrick. Now, he’s going to have a hard time making any friends anywhere, not that he’s really looking for them. Wanting Caitlin, and thinking she will want him back, is just the latest delusion on his part.
