‘Legends of Tomorrow’ spoilers: Will Sara Lance learn the truth about Laurel?

While there is a new episode of “Legends of Tomorrow” airing on The CW tonight, it may be wrong to assume that this is the installment where you see Sara Lance learning the tragic truth about her sister Laurel. Instead, you may have to wait a little while … but the news is coming this season.

Speaking per TVLine, executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed that the death of the Black Canary will be relayed to Sara by her father Quentin at some point later this season:

“Sara will find out what happened with Laurel. Paul [Blackthorne] was very gracious to lend his time to ‘Legends’ to really allow us to explore that. I feel like we give it its due.”

Why won’t it comes up tonight? While it’s possible in theory it could, it just seems unlikely given that the team is so far in the future that Quentin would of course be dead, and the same goes for anyone else who would be able to inform Sara of the truth. We’re rather glad that this is the way the show is going; it could be so easy for Rip Hunter or someone else to have told Sara a thing or two about what happened, but they’re not operating in that sort of way; instead, the show is relying on a great, powerful emotional moment between two characters who unfortunately know a thing or two about death. Quentin may be one of the show’s most-tragic characters left alongside Oliver Queen; the two have so much in common when it comes to losing people they’ve loved that it is eerie. Both of them also have one person who was revived via the now-destroyed Lazarus Pit.
