‘Elementary’ season 4, episode 19 preview: Get ready for a two-hour event

ElementaryJust in case the scheduling for “Elementary” on CBS was not chaotic already as it is we now bring you the following bit of scheduling news.

Thanks to the network airing the Academy of Country Music Awards next week (it’s something that happens all of the time in April, so this isn’t anything new), there will be no new episode of the Jonny Lee Miller drama airing. However, there will be two episodes airing the following week that should up the ante when it comes to mystery and drama. As for whether or not these two are actually linked, it’s hard to say. It doesn’t seem like they will entirely be based on the synopses below.

“All In” – “A mysterious woman who organizes illegal, high-stakes poker games arrives on Holmes and Watson’s doorstep and tells them her life is in danger claiming to be a former associate of Mycroft, Sherlock’s brother. However, as the pair investigates, Joan becomes suspicious that their new client isn’t being truthful.”

“Art Imitates Art” – “As Holmes and Watson investigate a woman’s murder, they discover her death is linked to a piece of artwork that has ties to a crime that was committed when she was in college. Also, in the wake of a shocking personal revelation, Watson attempts to forge a connection with a recent client.”

Ultimately, the network probably just felt the need to double up on April 10 based simply on how many more stories there are still left to tell this season. After this installments end, there will still be four more episodes this season. Because of “Elementary” premiering so late in the season, they really have to cram in the stories.
