‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12, episode 14 video: The Meredith – Jo relationship hits a boil

Thursday night’s new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” contains one moment that really was bound to be coming up eventually when you consider all of the variables: A fight between Meredith Grey and Jo Wilson. She has always been hard on her, whether it because of how she works to her relationship with Alex. Some of this may lie unconsciously underneath the surface for Meredith, but at the end of the day it really doesn’t matter; what does is the sole fact that there has been tension between these two ladies that has been bottled up for a long time now.

So moving into this episode, the scene below may just be the beginning for what is some serious conflict between the two. Meredith tries to instruct Jo in a completely impersonal manner as to what to do, which leads to her ultimately firing right back at her and making it clear that she is not going to just follow her orders relentlessly, regarding of whether or not that is something that she wants her to. She reminders that she is her own person, and as a result of that, worthy of respect.

So will any of this change the relationship between the two? It’s hard to say, but Meredith is at a crossroads here. She has to figure out how she really wants to treat the Alex / Jo relationship, and realize that in order for them to be both together and happy, it may be imperative for her to take a step back. That could be okay for her if she allows for it to happen.

As for whether or not there is anything Jo also needs to do, we’d say that once Meredith starts to show some change, she has to accept it; otherwise, there is no point in one of them making an effort at all to be better.
