Is ‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17, episode 18 new tonight? News on ‘Bachelor’ inspired episode

If you are still chomping at the bit to know whether or not “Law & Order: SVU” is going to be concluding the arc set up in “Manhattan Transfer” on Wednesday night, we have some bad news: There is still no new installment coming on NBC. With that being said, however, there may still be some other stories to look forward to in their own way. First of all, the series will be back in one week’s time; also, we have some news about an upcoming episode that may be inspired in some way by “The Bachelor.”

According to Showbiz 411, the series is in the process of casting a husband-and-wife team to be the creators of “Heart’s Desire,” a show that is going to have quite a few similarities to a certain dating-show franchise that is out there. The characters are described as having very little care or compassion for the people who are taking part in their program.

The one part of this idea that we find a little bit problematic is simply the fact that there is already a very-prominent spoof of “The Bachelor” franchise out there already in “UnREAL,” so what is the point of showing the dark side of a show that already has been exposed? We suppose that the main difference may just be the sort of crime that is committed. Given that this is “SVU,” there has to be some reason for the team to be involved.
