ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: ‘The Miseducation of Susan Ross’
Susan Ross is turning out to be one of the most interesting characters on all of “Scandal” to us. She is extremely intelligent, but at the same time often wears her heart on her sleeve. Also, we feel really bad for her right now since David is using her in order to get what he and Elizabeth North want out of her. Maybe we’ll eventually get to a situation where he just feels for her and therefore chooses her over Portia de Rossi’s character, but we’re not there just yet.
Instead, what we have for you below are some of the first details about “The Miseducation of Susan Ross,” the March 31 installment of the show that is going to deal specifically with David’s romantic entanglement also the Republican debates. Check out the just-released synopsis:
“Following the first Republican debate, Olivia is presented with damaging information about an opponent and enlists the Gladiators to verify its authenticity. Meanwhile, David deals with fallout from his dating life, and Cyrus continues to work on his own political agenda.”
At the moment, we feel like the problem for “Scandal” is ultimately rather clear: The show has to in some way make these debates as dramatic and as shocking as the actual debates this season, which have become such a bizarre, crazy exercise at times to watch. The show is probably doing the right thing in focusing more on the aftermath of them than the actual debates themselves, since the last thing they really want to try to do is compete with real life.
