‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 9, episode 18 video: Sheldon’s patent problems

There is a new episode of “The Big Bang Theory” coming to CBS on Thursday night after a week off, and it feels clear that there is one thing that you can definitely expect to see: Sheldon being Sheldon.

For whatever reason, the promo below does not make too much of an effort to tell you why Sheldon is running around with stacks of paper acting a little crazy, so we figured we’d clue you in there with a few little pieces of insight. He, Leonard, and Howard run into problems when filing a patent for their infinite persistence gyroscope, and as a result of that they spend much of the episode trying to get the issue resolved. We’re not sure how the show plans on making patents funny, but we imagine that they will figure this out somehow.

As for the other part of this episode not seen in the promo below, what we can tell you for now is that Emily will be returning to the show this week, and she and Raj are going to have at least an opportunity to talk about some things. We’re not saying that they will be getting back together, but this should serve at least as an opportunity for them to figure a few different things out.

We figure a little later this week there will be more revealed on this episode to share. For now, we’ll just admit that we have the “Arrow” version of the shirt Sheldon is wearing.
