‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 17, episode 18 preview: When will Mariska Hargitay, cast return?

It’s been nice to have a little run of new “Law & Order: SVU” episodes over the course of the past couple of months, but with everything TV, good things do come to an end. There is no new episode of the NBC series airing in one week’s time; as a matter of fact, there’s not going to be another one on the air at all until we roll around to Wednesday, March 23, when we are presented with an installment … at least for now. Given that this is when “Chicago PD” is also returning, it makes some sense that this is when we could see the latest case come on the air.

As for what you can expect to see, that is still up in the air. Unfortunately, there are not too many firm details out there about the show’s return so far, but that could change over the coming weeks. Eventually NBC should give us a little more insight about what is basically a direct continuation of what has taken place so far.

Based on what we’ve seen, the show definitely has its work cut out for it. Tonight’s episode ended with the transfer of Mariska Hargitay’s character of Benson, and we’re going to have to wait and see just how this is all going to play out from here. It’s a very new dynamic for the show, and something that could be interesting to explore as a result of everything that happened tonight with Barba making a connection to Tucker, someone she had a personal connection to as of late.
