NBC’s ‘The Voice’ video: Kata Hay could lead to fight between the coaches
Every now and then, we have to thank a judge on “The Voice” for not turning around, and making the competition for a singer more interesting as a result. Kata Hay is one of these said people.
In the video below, you can see Kata performing the Gretchen Wilson classic “Redneck Woman,” and she gets everyone to turn around … other than Blake Shelton. This is mildly hilarious given that she is from Oklahoma, and she actually sang with him when she was a toddler at the Oklahoma. She claims after the performance that she thought he was going to be the only person who would turn around, and she’s disappointed that he did not opt to do so.
In other words, Kata was totally choosing Blake. Not that there’s really anything that can be done about that now.
As for who else she could pick, it seems like her “girl crush” for Christina Aguilera could be a factor. We do definitely think that Christina has the sort of team right now that could be equipped to make her the first female coach to ever win the U.S. version of the show. During the premiere, she picked up someone in Alisan Porter who was not only sensational, but also has a little bit of a build-in following thanks to her childhood role in “Curly Sue” and her close association with Adam Lambert.
At the moment, though, we’re going to give the edge to Adam Levine … mostly because of how quickly she went up to hug him the moment that he turned around at the tail end of the performance.
