When could an ‘X-Files’ season 11 renewal be announced?

X-Files -Over the past six weeks, you have had a pretty-golden opportunity to enjoy new episodes of “The X-Files” on Fox. It’s been something that has not happened for a span of many years, and it was a thrill to dive back into this world again. While not all of the episodes were perfect, we honestly did not care.

Now, we’re stuck in somewhat of a holding pattern to see when the show could return with new installments … even though the answer here may be “not for a while.” Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are both extremely busy, and our question as a result of that is mostly when the show could feasibly be renewed. Fox does’t need to hurry with this, given that they don’t need 22 episodes for another season, and they also don’t need to save a spot on the schedule for it.

If we had to guess, we’d say that there is almost a 99% chance the show comes back for a short season 11 similar to season 10, and that the main holdup will likely be the complicated negotiations between the cast and producers. This is the only reason it took so long to announce the revival in the first place. We imagine that the renewal will be announced by the time Fox holds its upfront presentation in May, and then after that there will be time to talk about some of the finer details.

So for now, cross your fingers … and also start looking through names to determine who you think would be right to play William.
