Oscars 2016: Where to watch, live stream red carpet pre-show

Tonight, it’s finally here: The 2016 Academy Awards! There has obviously been a lot of buss and also controversy about some of the nominees, but come around midnight or so tonight Eastern time, we should finally know who has some new additions to their trophy collection, who chose to make a big statement, and whether or not Chris Rock does everything that we would hope for him to and then some.

Before we get around to that, let’s take on another important subject of conversation right now: Where you can go in order to watch / stream the red carpet pre-show, something that we know is almost always in demand. For those of you who want to simply watch a marathon-of-sorts of all things fashion, E! has already begun much of their coverage. It started at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time Sunday, though it will probably not be until around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. Eastern when some of the bigger stars start to become a subject of conversation.

Meanwhile, E! is also going to be providing (once again) a live stream for those of you who are not near your television. It begins at 5:25 p.m. Eastern time / 2:25 Pacific.

Do we think that E! provides perfect red-carpet coverage? No, but we do also think that they have improved in recent years to try to cut down on some horribly annoying questions, and they’ve also found some replacements for dismal ideas like the shoe cam and the mani-cam, the innovation that previously sent a chill down our spine.
