‘Poldark’ season 2: More fun with Aidan Turner, Heida Reed

We like to think of these “Poldark” updates as an almost-weekly occasion, with us of course wishing that they could of course be a little more frequent than they are. The truth of the matter here is that filming is still going on, and as a result of that the best thing that you can hope for are some small teases here and there. We really don’t see any incentive for the BBC to do anything otherwise at the moment.

If you look below, you can see a Verity tease courtesy of the show’s official account, and then also one via Heida Reed (Elizabeth) that features herself alongside Aidan Turner (Ross). Given that Turner is not a frequent social-media user (his Twitter account has only one post, an old retweet), Reed has become one of the best sources for “Poldark” behind-the-scenes teases beyond the folks over at Mammoth Screen.

As for what you can expect story-wise from the new season, we’d say to go watch the original show for some evidence … but don’t necessarily expect the series to strictly adhere to that, either. It has some creative flexibility to do whatever it chooses, and we certainly expect it to exercise that here and there in the upcoming episodes. All we know is that the walls are closing in on Ross, and he needs to find a new way to discover his place in the world.

The new season of “Poldark” will premiere at some point in the autumn, and we’ll have some more updates as soon as the news flies across our desk.
