‘Saturday Night Live’ petition starts to have Deadpool host

SNL -Remember when Betty White ended up becoming the host for “Saturday Night Live” after there were many petitions by viewers to have it happen? Well, apparently someone out there thinks that the same sort of thing can happen in the future with Deadpool.

A change.org petition was started recently in an effort to get the famed comic-book character, played by Ryan Reynolds, to host an upcoming episode of the show. Let’s make this even more clear, if we can; they want Deadpool himself to host the show, and not Ryan Reynolds the actor. It’s a hilarious idea, and there are over 25,000 people out there already who have signed on and expressed an interest in having this happen.

There is a part of us that thinks that this really would be a hilarious idea, and seeing someone deliver a full monologue in a superhero suit would be all sorts of amazing. Of course, the obvious problem to us is that “SNL” is a show that goes for the TV-14 rating the vast majority of the time, while part of the appeal of the “Deadpool” movie is that it was rated R.

Do we think that the show will actually make this happen? Probably not, but given the success of the Deadpool movie we have to think that at one point they will try to get Reynolds on board for a hosting gig. He’s done it before, and we feel like he’d do it again … and he’d probably do a Deadpool sketch in there somewhere.
