‘The X-Files’ season 10 finale spoilers: The story for Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny ends (for now)
We imagine that, by and large, you have enjoyed the six part return of “The X-Files” so far. Sure, the premiere had some wobbly moments, and we’re sure that some out there are worried (probably too much so) that tonight’s “Babylon” was meant to be a backdoor pilot for a new show with Lauren Ambrose and Robbie Amell, but we don’t actually think that this is going to happen.
We’re going to have a lot of time to discuss whether or not there will be an eleventh season of ‘The X-Files” over the course of the weeks ahead (and we do feel like it will happen), but for now let’s just go ahead and share the details for Monday night’s finale entitled “My Struggle: Part 2.” This episode will continue the story from the premiere, and hopefully will give it a little more shape before reaching a conclusion that will hopefully make fans happy:
“The investigations that Mulder and Scully previously began with conspiracy theorist and web-TV show host Tad O’Malley (guest star Joel McHale) seem to have awakened powerful enemies. A widespread panic begins as people all over the country suddenly start falling gravely ill, and Scully must look within to try and find a cure. Meanwhile, Mulder confronts the man whom he believes to be behind it all, but another figure from Mulder and Scully’s past may prove to be the key to their salvation.”
If you are thinking that a familiar face (perhaps the smoking man?) could be turning up in this episode, then you would be thinking like we are. After all, we have to figure that he made the cameo that the did at the end of the season premiere for a reason.
