Tonight is a huge night for CBS. After all, the network is broadcasting the Grammy Awards! It’s a little bit of an unusual night for the show in Monday, but we’re figuring that the network is ready to reap as many awards as possible that come via getting this show on the air. Typically, it ends up being a ratings bonanza for them.

Unfortunately, with every bit of good news comes bad news, and this is where we arrive for “Supergirl” fans: There’s no new episode coming to CBS tonight. The show is on hiatus until next week, when it’ll return with an installment entitled “Truth, Justice, and the American Way.” While we may not have too much in the way of new information on the episode, we can at least share one of the first photos above of Italia Ricci as Siobhan Smythe alongside Melissa Benoist’s Kara Danvers.

In the comics, Smythe eventually becomes the villain Silver Banshee, so we are curious to see whether or not this is a direction that we’re going with her on the show, as well. For now, what we know is that she’s coming aboard as a new assistant to Cat Grant, one that was probably necessitated by the amount of trouble Kara has had being reliable at her job.

While we’re not sure just where this particular story is going, we’re still excited to see it mostly on the strength of what we’ve seen so far this season, and the range that Ricci showed on “Chasing Life.” It’ll be fun to see her in a very different sort of role.
