‘Supergirl’ spoilers: See Melissa Benoist, Grant Gustin together (and in costume!)
The “Supergirl” crossover into the CW – DC Universe is something that was in demand from almost the moment that the show was announced, and it is certainly a thrill now to see that it is actually happening.
As you see from Grant Gustin’s Instagram page below, he is currently filming with Melissa Benoist in Los Angeles for the CBS show, which is airing an episode entitled “Worlds Finest” to air a little later this spring. This crossover was first teased on this past episode of “The Flash,” where on his journey to Earth-2 Barry, Cisco, and Harrison Wells got a brief glimpse of Supergirl flying. Are there still questions about how this will work logically? Sure, and those are questions you can get some possible explanations for over here.
Ultimately, the main focus of this story is just meant to likely be give some comic-book fans what they want, and show that there are ways in which to bring everyone together in a way that should hopefully appeal to new viewers. It’s possible that “The Flash” will benefit from having some “Supergirl” viewers see Gustin in this role, just as we also think that viewers of Grant’s show may be interested in checking out “Supergirl” once again. We could envision some of them having bailed on the first few episodes, but the show has vastly improved since then and it has found an audience. At one point we were concerned about its long-term future, but we’re now feeling pretty good about it staying put on CBS for some time to come.
